The Stereo 6 Tube Microphone Preamplifier/DI combines 2 channels of our EC600 (Ampex 601) tube preamps with added features in a stylish 19 rack format. All of the good stuff with even more good stuff.

EC600 tube preamp(EF86 & 12AU7) 60dB gain. MIC/15db MIC PAD/30db LINE PAD inputs. The Stereo 6 retains all of the unique personality and tube character of the original Ampex 600 series units.

When pushed the output stage compresses slightly, and at higher volumes tube saturation can be achieved to scratch that classic itch. The added features make the unit an asset for the modern recordist.

We use mil-spec Vishay/Dale resistors, Polypropelene capacitors, Cinemag and Edcor transformers- even original style Davies phenolic knobs.
