Focusrite Octopre PLATINUM LE analog 8-channel Preamp + optics in/out

IMHO the PLATINUM is much better sounding than the newer Mark II ones, with much more convenient hands-on switches and dials. All 8 channels have their own "Dynamics" dial which combines wonderful Analog warmth Compression + Limiter, and their own Lo-cut switch, line/mic switch, 48V Phantom power switch, and Input gain dial. Channels 1 and 2 have additional 1/4 Instrument Inputs on front left panel, great for plugging guitars or keyboards in as sort of a D.

With its own Analog warmth color to it not found in the newer Mark II versions. They "Dynamics" dial on every channel is a combined Limiter / Compressor, something that is not on the Mark II. A slight turn clockwise will engage the Limiter, which is good in front of your Interface, to prevent overloads. Further clockwise dials in more Compressor, which can make toms & snare, or voice much bigger.
