Here's a Focusrite Red 1 quad microphone preamp from the 1990's. This is the Rupert Neve designed four channel pre-amp version and each channel offers switchable phantom power and phase reverse, selected by illuminated push-button switches activating relays, an easy to read illuminated VU meter. Microphone gain is switched in 6dB steps over a 66dB range, for accurate and precise channel matching. This preamp is very transparent, un-colored with a ton of clean gain. It sounds great on everything from vocals to drums and works well with a wide variety of microphones including ribbon mics.In my opinion, the custom wound input/output transformers used in the Red series sound far superior to the ones offered in the current Focusrite ISA mic preamps. I'm the second owner and it has only been used in my private recording studio, climate controlled environment. Cosmetically it's in great condition. Working perfectly with no issues and sounds terrific. Always powered down after use.
Includes the factory instruction manual, three pages of original calibration check printouts for this unit. Crafted to the highest standards, all the Red Processors are manufactured solely in the UK using machine-tooled, half-inch thick claret red anodised aluminium. The benefits of Focusrites classic pre-amp topology include superb common-mode rejection, an excellent overload margin, an extremely low noise floor and super-wide bandwidth.
Phase Reverse and Phantom Power. Available independently on each channel via firm-response illuminated switches. Four easily-read illuminated porthole window VUs are provided. Mic gain is switched in 6dB steps over a 66dB range, for accurate, precise channel matching and recall.
