Wasn't use to much. Everything original including original box. Golden Age Project PRE-73 DLX. Is a vintage-style, solid-state preamplifier that offers circuitry similar to that in the classic 1073 module.
The single-channel PRE-73 DLX uses only discrete components, including Tantalum capacitors. You get a choice of mic, line, and DI (active or passive) inputs to go along with XLR and 1/4-inch outputs. Front panel input and output knobs give you plenty of level-setting flexibility. A 5-way attenuation switch (0, -7, -14, -21, -28 dB) makes it easy to overdrive the output stage to add additional coloration to the sound. Other controls include a high-pass filter with four different frequency selections (off, 50, 80, 160, 300 Hz), a front-panel switch that governs the insert jack's in/out status, as well as DI In, 48V (phantom power), Low-Z (mic-input impedance), Phase, Ground Lift, and 600 (output) Termination switches. The PRE-73 DLX also gives you a number of user-configurable options that can be set on the inside of the unit. These include changing the DI input from active to passive, changing the DI's input impedance from its normal high-impedance setting to 100, setting the DI input to bypass the mic transformer, and shutting off the input to the Insert jack when it's not in use. Vintage-style electronics; no integrated circuits in the signal path. Maximum gain on the mic input is 80 dB, enough to handle passive ribbon mics with quiet sound sources. Gain range on the Line input: -20 to +10 dB. Mic input impedance can be switched between 1200 or 300; change the tone of many mics. Switchable phantom power and absolute phase. A high-impedance instrument input for any sound module, electric guitar, or bass.
A simple but effective 4-step LED output level meter. The output level control makes it possible to make fine gain adjustments. It also lets you overload the main gain stage(s) for more character, and then lower the signal to a suitable level before the output stage. Combo XLR/TRS input jacks and separate output XLR and TRS jacks for flexible connections. Insert jack for inserting EQs and other units.High-power external power supply to avoid interaction with the audio circuits and transformers. A solid build quality that will last many years of normal use. Tantalum capacitors in the signal path. Selectable 1073-style high pass filter, with 50, 80 , 160 and 300 Hz settings. Output Attenuator -7, -14, -21 and -28 dB (located after the output transformer) allows overdriving the output stage and the output transformer for added character by lowering the output signal to a suitable level. The circuit board is prepared for (optional) Carnhill Mic and Line transformers and high-pass inductors. The Insert jack can be switched in/out from the front panel. An internal jumper can select that the Insert jack always has an output signal. Switchable 600 Output Termination and Ground Lift on the back panel. Selectable Active or Passive DI input and selectable input impedance in active mode, Hi-Z or 100 k by internal jumpers.
The DI signal can be selected to pass or bypass the mic input transformer by internal jumpers. Relays are used to control internal switching for DI input, Phantom power, Mic Low Z, Insert and Phase for shorter circuit board signal paths. The relays are controlled by front-panel switches. Revised gain switch for added headroom. Revised power supply with separate regulators for the audio circuits and relay and LED circuits.
