Langevin AM 4100B Recording Preamplifier with Urei LA5 Compressor Pro Rack

(4100B preamp card) I bought this about 10 years ago for my home studio. It came from a closed out studio in NYC.

We used this to track guitars and its killer on bass and also used on drums... Crush an omni room mic with this!!

Tracking mainly inside the box nowadays so moving some of the outboard gear. This unit was last used a couple of years ago and upon power it up to check for sale heres what I found. Unit powers up and is totally usable now as it is. It has tons of gain unpadded (as I remember) and has a slight noise floor with all that gain.

Padded it is much quieter and how we used it all the time. The volume knob is cutting out slightly but thats mainly from not being used but works. The LA5 works and from what I understand it was a sharp peak limiter compressor for PA applications. I found that it works more like an LA3 (softer compression) so Im not sure if the values have drifted or if its been modded way back. Its a really nice old school rack job. A few months ago I saw another racked almost exactly like this one. They both had the stereo link so maybe YOU have the twin brother?
