Neumann V476B Mic Preamps Racked Pair with Internal Mains and 48V Phantom Power
Neumann V476B Mic Preamps Racked Pair with Internal Mains and 48V Phantom Power. From Jim Johnson's (Composer for the WWE) personal studio comes these clean and fully functional Neumann V476B Mic Preamps. The rack has been well maintained in a smoke-free studio and operates as intended. Exhibits a few minor cosmetic marks due to use. From the fine Volks at Neumann in former West Berlin, the same people who gave us so many legendary sounding microphones, preamps, EQ's, and compressors come the V476b microphone preamps.

The 476b is the second generation of the Neumann PMV 70 microphone preamp and all circuitry is discrete, living up to the strict German television and radio broadcast standards regulated by the Institut für Rundfunktechnik in the 60's, 70's, and 80's- thereby earning it the designation V476b. These were manufactured from the late seventies all the way until 1989 when Neumann quit manufacturing all audio audio equipment except microphones. Please take note of the Haufe input and output transformers shown in the interior picture. The Neumann V476b is an heir to a long tradition of fine German broadcast modules. German transistor-based microphone preamplifiers have earned an excellent reputation among studio engineers with modules like the Telefunken V672, Telefunken V676a, TAB V376a, the Neumann PMV 70, the Siemens V276 and more.

High tones are present yet smooth, midrange is silky smooth, and low frequencies are fuller and tighter and overall they have a gentle color character. Put these in the signal path and listen to your microphone open up! I find them to be a bit more solid and punchy than their PMV-70 counterpart and they will tighten things up on the low end and smooth out those high-end frequencies oh so nicely. Plus 76 dB of gain is more than enough for even the most sensitive of ribbon mics. Transformer balanced inputs and outputs.

Up to 76 dB gain in 6dB increments. Gain fine tuning adjustment knob up to 10dB. Selectable high pass filter at 80 and 140 Hz. XLR mic level inputs and XLR +4 dB outputs in a one-space rack are standard.
