Universal Audio UREI 1108 Mic PreAmp Pair as used by Van Halen, Beach Boys

Fabulous, rare pair of Universal Audio/UREI 1108 pre-amps racked by Los Angeles racking master, Boutique Audio. There is so much control on this unit. On each channel they have three impedence settings (dial that mic in right, or get creative with the tone), -10, -20 and -30 db pad knob, output volume control, DI, phase and phantom power! Comes with separate power supply. It's a very clean unit inside and out.

Here's Eddie Van Halen in front of his Universal Audio board with these similar pre-amps inside!! And these are full box racked - not just a front panel. As Jext-Telez website says: AS amazing as they say.

Great rack job, great psu, working perfect, sounding timeless. I started pursuing 1960's UA pres after a certain Grammy winning engineer I respect told me his 1108's were his favorite and the only thing that has a huge class equal to 1073/Helios/ etc..

And MORE class than all of those flavors due to the American personality-- the personality all those Brits were dying to try to find. The top on these is so natural and open it embarrasses all the funky carved murky-unless-you-crank-up-10k bullshit going on in this world. You do not need to crank 10k on these. It's all ready there.

Along with 60hz and 700 hz and 3k. That's what's amazing about truly great preamps. The older you get you realize this too-- who uses EQ's? That's the magic of the 1108.
