This is a tube microphone preamp. Made in Leningrad (the same place as LOMO) in 1967 year.
It has 4 transformers 2 tubes in the sound section and 2 transformers and 1 tube in the power section. It is true FAT MACHINE. A little bit noisy, but very fat. On the front you can see the Gain control (the Gain is hot enough for quiet microphones). The second control is adjusted with a screwdriver, and it determines the character of the color (more bottom or trebles).
Two type of voltage on the board! Also I made fully servicing and recaping. There are UREI style connectors at the back of the device and plug-n-play wires with standard XLR. " " is Leningrad production Association " Red dawn". I recorded some samples with female vocals.
I used different positions of the two controls to achieve a different color of sound. UD-1 TUBE PREAMP (1967) - FEMALE VOCALS.
