Alchemy Audio Modified ART Tube MP 12AX7 Vacuum Tube Microphone Preamp / DI

Notes: These inexpensive tube preamps are great with microphones, as a DI or even powering a turntable in a home stereo configuration. Unfortunately, inferior parts and components were utilized in an effort to maintain a low price point. I upgrade the circuit opamps to a duo of hi-fi replacements (Burr-Brown OPA2134) and replace the coupling capacitors to audiophile grade Nichicon.

Additionally, the diodes are replaced with a higher quality, ultra fast type. I also replace the stock Chinese 12AX7 vacuum tube with a Russian Sovtek or JJ model.

Lastly, I upgrade the knobs for a nice aesthetic touch. The result is quieter operation, faster response and an improved, defined sound.
