Collins 12H, Broadcast Studio Audio Control Panel

Here is a beautifully refinished Collins Radio Model 12H, Audio Input Control Panel for a Broadcast Studio. For that era as well.

This particular one has been completely stripped, painted and silk-screened with the exact color and markings of the original unit. The inside of the cabinet was also painted light gray so it looks like it just came off the assembly line of Collins Radio in 1938, and would make a perfect working demo for a mock-up Broadcast Studio of the 1930's. However, all active functions are now replaced with modern solid-state devices for the mike pre-amp channels and audio outputs, which mimic the original vacuum tube circuits. The original mike connectors and output terminations are used. The entire system runs from an internal 120VAC to 12VDC power supply, or it can also run from an external 12V DC source as well.

All power input, either 12VDC or 120VAC comes in through an original 10 pin side mounted, Cinch-Jones connector. Mating power cords are provided for both 120 VAC & 12VDC.

Since some of the Mallory switching padders were non-operative and non-repairable, only two of the microphone inputs are active which are terminated with working constant impedance variable input pads feeding the microphone pre-amp circuits. The switchable level VU meter is fully functional. Master Volume and switchable Speaker level outputs are available for the Line, Speaker & Headphones outputs. Inputs and outputs are front panel lever switch selectable On/Off just as in the original.

This is a large and very heavy steel cabinet, so pick-up in the northern Virginia area is suggested, or I can also deliver at a reasonable distance. The panel's overall dimensions are 30 inches wide, 17 inches deep and 11 inches high. Note, the streaks etc you see on the front panel are simply reflections from the surroundings on the very glossy paint job. I didn't earn over 6000 positive feedbacks by cheating people.
