Groove Tubes The Brick Tube Mic Preamp/DI

Was used in my home studio. The Brick is a classic tube preamp designed for serious project studio owners. It has additional DI and line-driving applications beyond being a mic preamp.

Handles capacitor mics that require phantom power, as well as dynamic and ribbon mics. Gain range: 25 to 55dB. Derived from the high-end Vipre preamp circuitry. Features three tube stages and a transformer-balanced (floating) output stage. Claims to drive cable runs over 1000 feet.

High input impedance with up to 30dB of gain. Suitable for studio and live-sound applications. Handles guitars, basses, and keyboards (mono). Includes an instrument Thru connection for DI feed without interrupting the usual amplifier connection.

Can serve as a balanced line driver following a stage effects pedalboard or digital guitar preamp. Adds tonal warmth to direct recordings, beneficial for digital sound sources.

Can be plugged into the effects return socket of guitar amps for clean tones in the studio.
