The A2 is user installable mod card for the ART PRO VLA II Compressor, featuring Ultra High Performance Jensen input and output transformers. The A2 is designed and built to run stereo program material through the ART PRO VLA II at higher levels of sonic clarity. This clarity results from, and is accomplished by switching signal impedances running through the VLA II, allowing for higher signal flow at an offset impedance.

The unique design of the A2 allows for a simple, hassle free and non-obtrusive installation inside the VLA II. If you can switch out a pair of tubes, you can install this mod.

Whether you own a home studio or a commercial production facility, the A2 offers usability and a competitive sound advantage at an entry level price. This mod preserves all original functionality of the VLA II. Signal runs through VLA II as it normally does with the transformers in their appropriate place in the internal signal chain. Input - input transformers - main board(tubes) - output transformers - output. If the bypass switch is actuated on the front panel, the input transformers are bypassed as well. And only the output transformers remain in the signal path, which is cool on it's own terms. Mod is not built or designed for the original VLA. It might work, however there is not enough space between main and back boards on original VLA to fit the mod. It is only tested and designed for VLA II. Kit does NOT include Jensen Transformers (those metal can looking things in the pictures). You will also need a soldering iron and a little bit of skill.
