These are a nice intro to British Quality Channel strips but have limited headroom a fair amount of midrange funneling and fairly limited bandwidth compared to High End preamps.

The best quality of these stock is the Opto Compressor that Joemeek is so famous for. The modifications address every aspect of the signal path and improve the headroom by 10 db, open up the sound stages for broader bandwidth and more musicality. The EQ comes out a lot smoother sounding with less harshness and a less flabby sounding low end.

The compressor section comes out fatter and smoother sounding than even stock. These sound great on vocals and a number of other sources like Bass and acoustic guitar.
