Samson C-Valve Single Channel Tube Microphone Preamplifier For Music & Recording. Power supply cord not included. The C-valve from Samson is a low voltage tube preamplifier for microphones, instruments or line level signals and outputs a pure signal and silky sound.
It features variable gain and variable tube process saturation for adding harmonics. A peak limiter helps prevent clipping in downstream equipment and a preset EQ enhancement circuit provides a "high frequency" lift. Phantom power is provided for use with condenser microphones and a phase switch allows for changing the phase of the unit's output.
A digital output provides direct connectivity with stand-alone or computer hard disc recorders and two preamps can have their outputs linked through one of the unit's S/PDIF output. A large analog VU output meter and a six-segment LED input meter make it easy to adjust the gain. Insert points are also available.
High quality microphone or instrument pre-amplifier using discrete transistor and tube gain cells. Amount of harmonic overtones or "warmth" can be controlled using the Saturation control. S/PDIF output via an internal, high quality analog-to-digital converter outputs 24-bit digital audio with 48 or 96kHz sampling rates using a rear panel RCA connector. An Input Gain control maximizes the overall input gain stage.
On board Limiter for leveling the output. A pre-set "sweetening" EQ curve can be added using the Enhance switch. Six segment LED input VU meter displays the level after the Gain control. Analog VU meter makes it easy to read the output level.
48-volt phantom power for powering condenser microphones. Positive or negative phase can be selected using the Phase switch. Oversized, rubber bumpers with tilting feet allow several Samson C class units to be stacked and tilted in an ergonomically correct operating position. 1 x 1/4 TS Send. 1 x RCA coaxial S/PDIF.
