Studer 900 a channel strips (pair) mic pre, 4 band parametric eq with filters

For sale is a pair of Studer 900a mic pre's filter and eq's (not to be confused with the less extensive eq of the 900b). These pre amps have 80db of gain they are muscular and described as clean but not sterile, open and transparent although they will give a little SSL type grit when pushed. I have Neve 1073, Api 312 and some NTI / Nightpro pre amps and these are of the same quality but offer a different flavour. There is also a phantom power and phase switch.

There is no separate line input it is shared with the mic input xlr as it takes both, mic and line levels from -72 to +24 dBu. The pan button has been modded to be a fader so it possible to completely adjust exactly the appropriate level to tape/DAW. The eq and filters on these are amazingly very flexible and powerful very much like SSL eq. They are both independently switchable in and out of the signal path.

All the bands have cut and boost of 15db and are continuously variable through their frequencies. The HF is switchable between shelf and bell and is nice and smooth without being harsh with the LF also variable between shelf and bell and can add weight to any source. The Q of the two mid band can also be adjusted by pulling the boost/cut knob. There is also some beautiful sounding 12dB/Octave butterworth high pass and low pass filters.
