Here we have on offer one of our very popular 1950s vintage British mic preamps. Custom built using original pro recording modules which have been completely serviced, tested and built into new 19 rack enclosures. Each unit is hand crafted to order for you so we are able to do various mods and upgrades if required.

The main modules, front panels and power supplies are all original and we only change some parts to get noise levels down as low as possible and improving the original specs and frequency response. These once completed are better than the new spec from the 1950s. Tested from 20hz to 20k hz within 1db!

This is superb and the sound is amazing, very warm and detailed. As well as a high end mic pre they have gained quite a following as a DI for Bass and guitars having a high impedance input. Spec wise on this model is a very upgraded version. 2 x EF86 - 1 x EL84 - 1 x ECC83 - 1 x EZ80.

Full XLR input and output for mic input and line output. Transformer balanced mic input - Step up transformer for extra clean gain. Transformer balanced broadcast grade 600 ohm output. Upgraded resistors and capacitors for noise floor reduction and improved frequency.

1/4 unbalanced Hi z DI input - Awesome on Bass. 1/4 unbalanced instrument input - lower gain for keyboards, drum machines and anything else. 50db gain - Full audio bandwidth tested. Included is a dedicated 48v Phantom power supply with toroidal transformer, regulated and protected 48v. Classic British sound with the high gain EF86 valve stages.
